From 02 to 11 April 2025, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor N.K. Baigabatova and Head of the Department of History and SGD, PhD G.I. Ishkalova conducted a scientific trip to Almaty within the framework of the scientific project of programme-target financing of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan ‘Modern challenges in the regulation of land relations: historical and legal analysis’ (2024-2026, IRN BR24993047).
In the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan researchers analysed unique documents reflecting the evolution of land policy in the territory of Kazakhstan in the XIX-early XX centuries. In the center of attention are the issues of land use, agrarian reforms and legislative changes in the field of land relations.
Rare pre-revolutionary editions, legal acts and analytical works concerning the agrarian history of Kazakhstan were studied in the rare fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The obtained materials will be the basis for future scientific publications and analytical reports.
The work with primary sources allowed the researchers not only to expand the empirical base of the project, but also to identify new directions for analysing modern challenges in the regulation of land relations in the country.
