The Center for Research on Law, Ecosystems and Sustainable Development has been opened

At the Faculty of Law and Economics of Zhetysu University named after I.Zhansugurov, a new Center for the Study of Law, Ecosystems, and Sustainable Development has been officially opened. 

During the inauguration ceremony, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Baurzhan Taubaev, delivered a speech emphasizing the significance of the newly established center.

“This center was established within the framework of program-targeted funding by the Committee of Science under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as part of the project “Modern Challenges in the Regulation of Land Relations: Historical and Legal Analysis”. The center will contribute to the implementation of state policy in the fields of law, ecosystems, and sustainable development, as well as the integration of comprehensive research findings into academic discourse,” the Vice-Rector noted.

Scientific trip: work on the PTF project continues

From 02 to 11 April 2025, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor N.K. Baigabatova and Head of the Department of History and SGD, PhD G.I. Ishkalova conducted a scientific trip to Almaty within the framework of the scientific project of programme-target financing of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan ‘Modern challenges in the regulation of land relations: historical and legal analysis’ (2024-2026, IRN BR24993047).
In the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan researchers analysed unique documents reflecting the evolution of land policy in the territory of Kazakhstan in the XIX-early XX centuries. In the center of attention are the issues of land use, agrarian reforms and legislative changes in the field of land relations.
Rare pre-revolutionary editions, legal acts and analytical works concerning the agrarian history of Kazakhstan were studied in the rare fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The obtained materials will be the basis for future scientific publications and analytical reports.

Internship at Tashkent State University of Economics

From April 13 to 19, 2025, Olesysa Lemchshenko, Senior Researcher of the program BR24993047 “Modern Challenges in the Regulation of Land Relations: Historical and Legal Analysis”, completed an internship at Tashkent State University of Economics (Republic of Uzbekistan). The scientific supervisor of the internship was Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Narboy Karimov.

The internship program focused on studying international experience in the field of effective agricultural land use, legal regulation of land relations, and tools for assessing land resource utilization. During the visit, analytical materials were collected, professional contacts were established, and the experience of Uzbekistan was studied, which will be used in conducting a comparative analysis of land resource markets within the framework of the program.

Strengthening scientific and academic cooperation in the field of land law

From May 25 to May 31, 2025, Galym Teleuyev, Senior Researcher of the BR24993047 “Modern Challenges in the Regulation of Land Relations: Historical and Legal Analysis”  program, PhD, and Dean of the Faculty of Law and Economics at  Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov, visited Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh and Tashkent International University. Mutual agreements were reached to strengthen scientific and academic cooperation and develop collaborative projects in the field of land law.
